Robo-Lawyer Gets Cold Feet: A.I. Chatbot Backs Out of Courtroom Debut Amid Threats from State Bar Prosecutors 👩🏻‍⚖️

DoNotPay, the company behind "the world's first robot lawyer", announced plans to bring an AI chatbot to a real U.S court case earlier this month, but has since backed away from the plan due to threats from "State Bar prosecutors". CEO Joshua Browder stated that the company will focus on its core mission of helping consumers with their rights, and will continue to resolve cases such as contesting parking tickets, lowering medical bills and disputing credit reports.

BuzzFeed Gets Buzzy with ChatGPT 👩🏻‍💻

BuzzFeed is turning to OpenAI's ChatGPT technology to enhance its quizzes and personalize content for its audiences. In a memo to staff, CEO Jonah Peretti stated that he plans for AI to play a larger role in the company's editorial and business operations in the coming year. The new AI-powered quizzes will produce individual results, allowing users to create unique, shareable write-ups based on their responses. Peretti believes that AI will assist the creative process and enhance the company's content, while humans provide ideas, cultural currency, and prompts.
