Google Research Introduces Phenaki - Generating Realistic Videos from Text Descriptions πΉ
Google Research team just unveiled Phenaki, a new AI tool that can turn text into realistic videos. Say goodbye to boring written descriptions, and hello to visually stunning videos that bring your words to life. Phenaki uses an encoder-decoder model to compress videos into tokens and a transformer model to translate text into video tokens. Plus, it can generate arbitrarily long videos from open-domain prompts. It's like having a mini-Hollywood studio at your fingertips. Check out Phenaki's demo videos and see for yourself.
OpenAI announced their API for ChatGPT π€π₯
Based on user feedback from the research preview, OpenAI has made important updates to ChatGPT, and it will soon be available on both their own API and Microsoft's Azure OpenAI Service.
This new API is the perfect tool for developers looking to add natural language capabilities to their projects.
AI-mages of Controversy: Artists Sue Stability AI, Midjourney, and DeviantArt ποΈ
Three artists file a class action lawsuit against Stability AI, Midjourney and DeviantArt, alleging that the companies used their art without consent for AI training. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and an injunction to prevent future harm. This lawsuit highlights the ongoing debate over the use of copyrighted material in AI image generation and the need for more clear consent and licensing guidelines. It's a interesting case to watch for the future of AI and the art community.
Getty Images vs. Stability AI: Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Escalates π©π»ββοΈ
Just when you thought the legal battle between AI firms and content creators couldn't get any more intense, Getty Images has now joined the party by suing Stability AI, the creators of popular AI art tool Stable Diffusion, for alleged copyright violation. Getty Images believes that Stability AI unlawfully copied and processed millions of images from their site to train its software. The lawsuit marks an escalation in the ongoing legal battle over credit, profit, and the future direction of the creative industries in regards to AI-generated art.

π₯ Ava's Twitter findings
Researchers trained a quadruped robot to learn how to walk directly in the physical world without simulators. Learning from scratch in only 1 hour was possible by using the Dreamer algorithm to continuously learn a world model and plan inside of it.

Wow, now you can estimate full-body pose of multiple people with nothing but Wi-Fi signal π€―
I can think of 2 killer apps based on this tech:
1. Full-body VR gaming with just home Wi-Fi.
2. Fall detection of elders in hospital. No cams for better privacy. Saves lives!1/π§΅
